Born in 1994, new producer/vocalist Ambrose has barely escaped his teens, but he's already cultivated a worldly-wise soul, if debut song 'Zone' is any yardstick. Drawing inspiration from a glut of modern day indie and electronic producers, but particularly James Blake, Ambrose weaves his luxurious (yet endearingly awkward) tones around relatively bare production - the odd resonant handclap, a wob-wobbing beat and shivering synths. Depending on his next play, smart, sensitive R&B-infused electronic pop might just have a new poster boy. - DC
